Ferrari secured consecutive podiums in the last two races with Charles Leclerc‘s P3 result at Zandvoort. The Maranello-based team still shows scope for development, as highlighted by their team principal, Fred Vasseur.

The Reds have been on a declining run of form ever since their triumph in Monaco this season. They have made efforts with the upgrades and setups but have come up empty-handed against the likes of McLaren and Red Bull.

Fred Vasseur thereafter cited the need to improve the SF-24 ahead of the Maranello-based outfit’s home race at Monza. Vasseur claimed that the SF-24 has been functioning better around short-speed corners lately.

The fact that we are better in the short corners will help us. However, we were very far away – at Zandvoort – so I would never go to Monza, Baku or anywhere else thinking it will be a walk in the park.
Fred Vasseur said to Formula Passion

Ferrari stands third in the constructors championship race with 370 points behind McLaren and Red Bull. They will take pride in their hard-earned result at Zandvoort while eyeing an improvement for the upcoming Italian GP.

Fernando Alonso predicts Ferrari will be competitive over the next few races

Veteran driver Fernando Alonso has praised Ferrari for their consistency in notching consecutive front-row finishes since Spa. The Maranello-based team has won twice and amassed a decent 12 podiums so far this year.

The next two races [not including the Azerbaijan Grand Prix between them], for example, Ferrari should be the car to beat. What we saw last year in Monza and Singapore, Leclerc's win in Monaco this year, for Singapore, I think they will be the favorites.

Fernando Alonso has backed Charles Leclerc to lead his team while praising the latter’s exemplary performance in Monaco. Alonso stated that the Italian outfit has shown their capability around Monza and Marina Bay previously as well.

The 43-year-old has been on a rough spell this year, scoring only 50 points for Aston Martin. The upcoming race in Italy will be a stern test for both Alonso and Leclerc as they try to notch good results around the fast-paced circuit.
