Formula 1 recently held the F1 75 event, where all teams revealed their liveries for the 2025 season. However, Max Verstappen and Red Bull faced disrespectful behavior from the British crowd, as boos erupted when the driver took the stage. The FIA has condemned the incident, criticizing the hostile environment created by the English masses at the London O2 Arena.

Jos Verstappen stated that Max Verstappen would not attend future events if such were the reactions from the English fans. The FIA, which has been actively working to curb abusive language in Formula 1, strongly criticized the situation. The governing body emphasized that great rivalries among drivers are what make the sport an exciting experience for fans.

Great rivalries throughout the history of motorsport have contributed to making it such an exciting experience for fans.

The FIA told, as reported by motorsport.com.

The FIA stressed the fact that a culture of respect ‘underpins’ the sport as a whole. It condemned the ‘tribalist’ reaction from the crowd at the O2 Arena, expressing disappointment over the hostility directed towards the reigning world champion. Additionally, the FIA acknowledged the boos aimed at Red Bull team principal Christian Horner and berated them as well.

But what underpins sport at all levels is a culture of respect. As such, it was disappointing to hear the crowd’s tribalist reaction to FIA Formula 1 World Champion Max Verstappen and his Red Bull Team Principal and CEO Christian Horner, at the F1 launch in London.

The FIA added.

Max Verstappen has contributed ‘greatly’ to Formula 1

Max Verstappen is one of the most accomplished drivers in Formula 1, coming off four consecutive championship wins. The FIA asserts that both Verstappen and Horner have contributed greatly to the sport and didn’t deserve such a reaction. The governing body insists that the fans must not lose sight of this fact in the upcoming season.

Max and Christian have both contributed greatly to the sport we love. In the season ahead we should not lose sight of that.

The FIA noted.

The 2025 season is set to be extremely exciting as multiple teams and drivers look promising for championship contention. Red Bull will have to work hard on their challenger for the upcoming season to enable Verstappen’s winning chances. The likes of Lewis Hamilton, Lando Norris, and many more remain the prime rivals for the Dutchman in the upcoming season.
