Flavio Briatore, Alpine’s Executive Advisor, has his eyes set on Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz. Sainz has not yet signed a contract with his next team, and will have to empty the Ferrari seat for Lewis Hamilton in 2025.
Flavio Briatore while talking to media admitted that there’s a lot of interest at Alpine in signing Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz. He mentioned the team will try their best to evaluate the situation over the next few days. Briatore highlighted, currently, the priority for Alpine is to focus on improving the car rather than solely on driver. It is important for them to enhance the car’s performance, as they are already far behind in the standings. The Crashgate mastermind reckoned Alpine will consider building their car first before making any decisions about their drivers lineup.

Briatore felt surprised that driver like Sainz is available in the drivers market without a team. The Italian expressed a strong interest from everyone at the Alpine to bring the Spaniard into the team. Flavio Briatore expressed confidently, Alpine will be able to achieve race victories and podiums in 2026. He highlighted uncertainty about the exact number of wins they can secure. The Italian said, currently Alpine faced numerous challenges as they are restructuring their entire team. They are working on overcoming these disadvantages to position themselves strongly for future successes on the race track.

Further, Briatore expressed he has been given full authority by Luca De Meo who is the president of Renault group. The 74-year-old mentioned feeling comfortable with the responsibility and confidently assured, Alpine within two seasons would be taking podium finishes. This indicated his confidence in Alpine’s potential to excel in Formula 1 in the coming years.
