Franco Colapinto has replaced Logan Sargent at Williams for the remainder of the 2024 season. Sargent struggled to score points and faced many disappointing performances throughout the year. His difficulties peaked at the Dutch Grand Prix during third practice, when he crashed into the barriers.

Williams decided to make the change to improve their performance and opportunities. Colapinto will race alongside Alex Albon for the remainder of the season. Just three races into his F1 career, Franco Colapinto has already secured four points, thanks to his impressive P8 finish in Baku.

The Argentine’s strong performances have positioned him as a contender for the vacant seat at Sauber, which will transition to Audi in 2026. However, despite his talent, Colapinto faces stiff competition for a permanent seat at Williams in 2025, as Carlos Sainz is set to join the team from Ferrari to partner Alex Albon next season.
