Lewis Hamilton joined Scuderia Ferrari in 2025, making it arguable one of the biggest driver transfers in history of Formula 1. The seven-time world champion is in high spirits over his new journey at Maranello with an ambitious plan to succeed. Now, Ferrari team boss Fred Vasseur has revealed that the Briton knows how to get what he wants from the Italian team.

Hamilton has set his sights at bringing glory back to Maranello, rather just focusing on winning his own title. The British driver did not have the best of starts to his Ferrari stint after a poor outing in Melbourne. However, he quickly bounced back with an impressive sprint triumph in China. Unfortunately, things went downhill the following day with both Ferrari cars being disqualified from the Grand Prix.

Nevertheless, the seven-time world champion remains unfazed. Fred Vasseur highlighted that Lewis Hamilton knew how to extract everything he needs from the team. The Frenchman claimed that the Briton was a demanding person within the garage. Though, this works perfectly at Ferrari since Hamilton is just as demanding on himself to get results.

Lewis can extract the maximum from all the people around him because he is demanding with himself, and that goes over very well when he is demanding with others.

Fred Vasseur told L’Equipe,

The British driver has faced criticism over his disappointing start with Ferrari. However, the seven-time world champion knows that he can’t let such noise distract him. So much so, that Hamilton even assured the Tifosi that ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day,’ over his target of winning with the Scuderia.

Ferrari readying big update for SF-25

Scuderia Ferrari had high hopes at the season-opener in Australia. Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc seemed to be ready to take the battle for victory upfront with the aim of winning the championship this year. However, the first two races have exposed the weaknesses of the Italian team. As McLaren and Red Bull are the ones having a performance advantage against Maranello.

To counter this, the Scuderia is working around the clock to make things change in the coming weeks. As per Corriere dello Sera, Ferrari will bring a major upgrade package to the SF-25 at the Bahrain GP, the fourth race on this year’s calendar. The package will include a new floor to extract more performance. This might also address the rumored ride height issues with the car.

The 2025 Ferrari challenger is reportedly quite efficient. However, the rear end of the car remains a bit stiff. The update will try to solve this issue as well. Fans will need to wait till the Bahrain race to get a better picture on the Scuderia’s development trajectory and whether the car is moving in the right direction for the remainder of the season.

Can Lewis Hamilton bounce back in Japan?

Formula 1 heads to the Japanese GP next weekend. The race remains an iconic round for fans and drivers alike with some of the most exciting racing in the sport’s history. As such, Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari would be eyeing for a strong result to finally have solid footing in the battle upfront.

The Scuderia will need to get the right set-up in Qualifying, as a botched change ruined the team’s prospects last weekend in China. If the SF-25 gets in the right window, it could actually give Lewis Hamilton a real shot at winning the race despite the rapid McLarens.

However, Ferrari has no room for error. Even a single mistake could cost the team heavily in terms of points. After the Chinese GP disqualification, it becomes even more crucial for Hamilton and Leclerc to bag every point they can get. As such, the Tifosi would be hoping to see the seven-time world champion get a good result in Suzuka.
