Scuderia Ferrari team principal, Fred Vasseur has called for the team to work harder and provide better upgrades in light of consecutive unsatisfactory performances. Vasseur further asserted that his drivers, Charles Leclerc, and Carlos Sainz, need the utmost backing from the team to return to the top spots in Silverstone.
Ferrari started the season on a strong note after compromising runs by the team in 2022 and 2023, in which they failed to pose any real threat in the championship battle. But with the arrival of Fred Vasseur, a sense of radicality and prowess followed the Maranello-based outfit, which currently stands second on the leaderboard behind Red Bull.
However, the rejuvenated stallions remain in jeopardy after a string of lackluster performances since their dominant win in Monaco. Ferrari now trails Red Bull by 64 points, with McLaren right on the cusp of catching up to the Italians despite having a slower start to the season in comparison to them.
We need to do a better job, so that Charles and Carlos can qualify higher up the grid and then fight right at the front in the race.Fred Vasseur said ahead of the British Grand Prix

Both Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz have failed to qualify on the front row since Monaco and because of this, Ferrari is bringing in upgrades to Silverstone to help the talented duo. Fred Vasseur has hence concluded that a higher start for the race will be key to winning the British Grand Prix.
Charles Leclerc reveals Ferrari development setbacks post Austrian GP
Charles Leclerc was off the pace in battling Red Bull and McLaren during the race in Spielberg, in which he finished P11. The Monegasque, therefore, elaborated on the issues with the SF-24 post-race in Austria.
The downforce values brought by the new package are as expected and I confirm that, but this has brought other limitations that we need to examine, because since we introduced it we have had some difficulties. I didn't feel comfortable, but we will analyse them and compare them.Charles Leclerc via Motorsport
The six-time race winner articulated the issues with downforce around corners of the Red Bull Ring and said that the current problems are a consequence of the new packages brought to the SF-24. The 26-year-old driver further asserted that the newer upgrades did not sit well with the car, which is what the team will be looking to analyze and resolve for the upcoming races.
Carlos Sainz was however fortunate enough to qualify higher on the grid as compared to his teammate and finished P3 in Spielberg despite facing major challenges. Both drivers complained of not being comfortable with the handling of the car around the Red Bull Ring, which comes as a major concern for the Maranello-based team. Keeping everything in view, the outfit will desperately seek podiums and wins going ahead into the season.
