Lewis Hamilton is one of the biggest names to ever compete at the pinnacle of motor racing. He is an out-and-out legend of the sport who has smashed several records and pretty much, is seen in a league of his own.
With his upcoming move to the Ferrari F1 team from 2025 onwards, its team principal Fred Vasseur has taken the time to applaud the Brit. Lewis Hamilton has had his issues in qualifying for Mercedes this year, but this does not bother Vasseur at all.
The Frenchman views the seven-time world champion as an extremely valuable asset for Ferrari.
Everyone has been saying since the beginning of the season that Russell is faster than Hamilton, but at the moment he is the one who has scored more points for Mercedes. In terms of efficiency, I think he is a good benchmark. We know the positive aspects of Lewis' arrival at Ferrari. For example, his great experience in Formula 1.Fred Vasseur via Sky Italy
Vasseur has made it known that Ferrari is really looking forward to benefiting from the experience of Hamilton in F1. The prolific Brit has been competing in the sport since 2007 and has so far made his trade with top teams like McLaren and Mercedes.
Fred Vassuer’s take on Charles Leclerc’ recent struggles in F1
Vasseur has great aspirations for next year. While that campaign is some time away, he has a huge job on his hands during the ongoing 2024 season. In the last few races before the summer break, Charles Leclerc specifically had a struggle on the track and Vasseur has admitted that his team collectively did not do a good job.
Charles has had some problems in the last few weekends, but I still think he is clear and the truth is that sometimes we have collectively gone too far.Fred Vasseur via the same interview
Leclerc since joining the Maranello-based team has been their golden boy. He is undoubtedly one of the best drivers on the grid, but for one reason or the other, he faced several issues since his win in Monaco.
The SF-24 proved to be quite a handful for Leclerc and keeping this in view, it will be important for Vasseur and Co. to make the Monegasque as comfortable as possible within their car from Zandvoort onwards. The remaining 10 races will decide where Ferrari will ultimately end their campaign.
