Lewis Hamilton left frustrated after poor performance in Q3
Lewis Hamilton was left frustrated after he managed P7 in qualifying despite having a strong car with good performance during practice. Hamilton was only two-tenths off of George Russell.
The car was feeling great all weekend and as soon as we got to qualifying, that kind of vanished for me. The grip just disappears for me. P3, I had plenty of pace in me, and then get to qualifying and the tyres won't work. Nothing had changed on the car.Lewis Hamilton said after qualifying in Montreal
Lewis Hamilton has been outpaced by Russell in eight out of nine races this season, with the world championship winner’s woes appearing primarily in qualifying. The 39-year-old had a much better performance than his teammate in practice but failed to deliver during the intensely contested Montreal qualifying session.
The veteran Mercedes driver will now try his best to close the gap during the 70-lap Canadian GP. The new front wing on Hamlilton’s car has shown a huge performance improvement, which will be a key factor in the upcoming race.
