The Mercedes Formula 1 team had a pretty timid outing at the 2024 Singapore GP. George Russell and Lewis Hamilton ended up in fourth and sixth place and following the race, the former did not hold back from acknowledging the might of the pacey McLarens.
Lando Norris won the 62-lap race by a handsome margin of over 20 seconds. On the other hand, his teammate, Oscar Piastri, also ended up on the podium with a fairly comfortable third-place finish.

Looking at the reaction of the 26-year-old, it is quite clear that Mercedes had an extremely tough outing in the Singapore GP. Russell was able to hold off a fast-charging Charles Leclerc during the race but the challenge of getting the better of Piastri was a bit too much of an ask in the W15.

After Singapore, F1 is now in an almost month-long break before the action kicks off at the Circuit of the Americas for the US GP. Keeping this in view, Mercedes and all the other top teams have ample time to improve their cars ahead of the event.
The remaining six races of the campaign will produce fireworks up and down the grid for varied reasons. From Mercedes’ perspective, it will be all about doing the best job possible until the end of the campaign.
