Those guys are just quick at the moment. It's super impressive. Hopefully, they keep up there start performance and we can sneak around. If we don't, they will sneak off into the distance. McLaren are the team to beat.

Mercedes and McLaren have triumphed collectively in the last five races. The two teams will dual for the win and podiums early on as Formula 1 is all set to witness one of the most exciting races of the 2024 calendar at Monza.

It was great, ended up P3, a little better than I expected, because it was a really tough session, Q1 and Q2. Fortunately, we saved it until the end. Not too far behind the McLaren. They're so fast at the moment and we're working so hard to catch them up, but I'm super happy with third.

Russell was surprised upon finding pace in Q3 after dismal results in Q1 and Q2 around Monza. The Brit has thanked his team for their late efforts and thus, hopes for an uplifting battle against the two McLaren’s in the main race.

The 26-year-old put in a stellar run to win the Belgian GP before the summer break, to only get disqualified for an underweight car. The Italian GP will therefore be of special significance to Russell, he will undoubtedly target a sensational victory around the temple of speed.
