Mercedes driver George Russell appeared severely affected by the grueling 62-lap race around the Marina Bay Street Circuit. The 2024 Singapore Grand Prix is one of the hottest and most tiresome races on the Formula 1 calendar.

George Russell showed extreme composure and skill to finish P4 in the race. The 26-year-old driver has been consistent for the Silver Arrows, securing a win at Austria along with three podiums this season.

With track temperatures soaring close to 40° Celsius, many drivers appeared extremely exhausted after the 62-lap race in Singapore. Both Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell thereafter seemed visibly affected by the high temperatures in the W15’s cockpit.

The Brackley-based team currently stands fourth in the drivers’ championship with 329 points to their name. They will now hope to secure the most points out of the last five races as Formula 1 nears the end of yet another exciting season.

Lewis Hamilton and George Russell will not attend the post-race conference in Singapore

Mercedes has made a formal announcement stating that both their drivers, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, will not attend the post-race conference at the Singapore GP. The two have been reportedly ushered to care following the exertions of the race.

Unfortunately neither George or Lewis will be attending the media pen this evening as they recover from the exertions from this evening's race.

The Silver Arrows appeared shaky in their efforts despite showing considerable pace during the qualifying session. The drivers constantly complained of issues with the temperature inside the cockpit as well as the balance of the W15.

The Brackley-based team has not been up to par in their performances after the resumption of the summer break. The team’s current chances appear slim as they eye a top-three finish in the constructors’ championship.
