Lewis Hamilton will race for Scuderia Ferrari this year. The British driver joins the Italian team in the backdrop of a few underwhelming seasons at Mercedes. Nevertheless, former F1 driver Giedo van der Garde asserted that the seven-time world champion was still unbeatable.

Hamilton will partner Charles Leclerc at Maranello. Van der Garde claimed that the battle between the two drivers will be quite exciting for the Tifosi. He cited the advantage Leclerc has in one-lap pace. Although, Giedo van der Garde insisted that both drivers can learn from each other.

I do think the battle with Leclerc will be exciting. Leclerc is obviously incredibly good at qualifying, but I think they can learn a lot from each other.

The Dutch driver pointed out that Leclerc can learn from Lewis Hamilton when it came to race pace. Van der Garde emphasized that once the seven-time world champion gets into the car before a race, he is simply unbeatable. Perhaps a warning for rivals if Ferrari gives Hamilton a quick car this year.

Leclerc can of course do that from Hamilton in the race, because once he has a car and he is on pace, he is of course almost unbeatable.

I think it’s very bold. I think it’s really nice that he was able to make that step. But I think he is very motivated to start a new season, especially with the new people.

Giedo van der Garde stated

Certainly, Lewis Hamilton has high ambitions for his stint at Ferrari. The 40-year-old will be looking to be in contention for race wins from the start of 2025. However, it is likely that the upcoming season won’t be smooth sailing for this new partnership with rivals expected to be even closer at the front of the field.
