Max Verstappen prepares for not only performing well in the 2025 season but also for becoming a father to Kelly Piquet‘s child. Verstappen revealed his long-time girlfriend’s pregnancy over the last race weekend of the 2024 season. Hence, the due date seems near as the 27-year-old prepares for one of the most hectic seasons in Formula 1.

Max Verstappen had recently pointed out that he wouldn’t face much difficulty handling both duties. Verstappen and Kelly Piquet remained secretive about the due date and didn’t comment much on it since then. However, the Ex-F1 driver and close friend of Verstappen, Giedo van der Garde revealed the approximate date of delivery.

Van der Garde revealed that Mini Verstappen was due potentially mid-way the April month. The Dutchman reckoned that the 27-year-old would still have to participate in all the races scheduled that month. This meant that the reigning world champion would have to prioritize between Formula 1 and his pregnant wife.

That little one is due sometime in April if all goes well. But yes, he has to do those races anyway.

Max Verstappen will be in a dire situation if Kelly Piquet labors in the April month

The 2024 calendar is fully packed, featuring over 24 races across different racing destinations. Among the many triple headers, April also features over three different races. This makes the month one of the busiest in Formula 1, and Verstappen might not be able to skip any races.

Red Bull is currently in an extremely volatile state and needs Verstappen to score well this season. The Dutchman will have to travel to the Japanese Grand Prix, followed by the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix. Therefore, the 27-year-old might be unable to quickly travel back to Piquet and then return to the racing destination in the same week.

Verstappen has yet to officially comment on his plan of action following his girlfriend’s delivery. The Dutchman is likely to remain calm, handle both responsibilities and not miss out on any major activity. Time will tell how fatherhood pans out for the 27-year-old as he shifts his focus to scoring impressive results with Red Bull.
