Max Verstappen‘s father, Jos Verstappen, has quite a good influence on the former’s racing career. The 53-year-old has faced a lot of backlash due to his controversial ways of raising his son. Even though he was allegedly very harsh at times, Verstappen Sr. forged an extremely dominant driver in Verstappen. The father is also known for his stern and cold attitude. Gino Rosato, who was closely linked with Ferrari, has weighed in on Jos Verstappen and his questionable demeanor. Rosato didn’t hesitate to label Verstappen Sr. as a ‘pure pure thug’, one who was extremely candid and uptight. As such, the Canadian warned the people not to ‘f**k’ with the 53-year-old, as he did not worry much about the consequences in the heat of the moment.

Gino Rosato wasn’t full of negatives about Jos Verstappen, as he also had some motivational words for the latter. The Canadian labeled Verstappen Sr. as a ‘pure’ guy who remained honest, despite being old school. Rosato also declared that despite being rather harsh on his son, he raised a ‘beast’ in Max Verstappen, who did not leave any stone unturned to perform well in the pinnacle of motorsport.

He’s a pure guy, he’s an honest guy, it’s old school, and what are you going to tell him? You did bad? You created the biggest beast on the face of Formula 1, or one of them for sure.

Max Verstappen has rightfully earned the title to be one of the greatest, if not the greatest, drivers in the history of Formula 1. Verstappen has a no-nonsense and straightforward attitude, and, Ferrari’s last championship winner, Kimi Raikkonen, was regarded similarly as well. Hence, Gino Rosato, who worked for multiple years with Raikkonen at Ferrari, draws up a parallel between the Dutchman and the former.

Gino Rosato pointed out that Max Verstappen was a very ‘pure’ person and was extremely similar to Kimi Raikkonnen. However, the Canadian accepted that Verstappen was a bit more spicy and open-minded as compared to the ‘IceMan’. Rosato insisted that Raikkonen suffered in silence, while the Dutchman lashed out occasionally. Although, despite the hate around the reigning world champion, he always responded quickly to people who mattered to him, as the Canadian was one of them.

Max is pure, very similar, extremely similar to Kimi. He’s a bit more spicy, a bit more open-minded than he is. Kimi will suffer in silence, whereas this one will lash out once in a while. But, just a gentle, I can text Max right now, and he’s gonna answer me back within two minutes.

Although people hate Jos Verstappen for the things he allegedly did to Max Verstappen, the former definitely knew how to make a great racing driver. The four-time champion has many more years of racing fuel left in him as he is sure to break records in the many years to come. Verstappen Sr. will continue to look closely at his son and his racing career and decide what’s best for him when the latter doubts himself.
