The Brackley-based-outfits mistake cost Russell his third F1 career win despite putting in a solid run. They will now hope to improve on their mistakes to make sure such incidents are avoided going ahead into the future.
Andrew Shovlin claims Mercedes will revert back to advanced settings for Dutch GP
Mercedes Trackside Engineer Andrew Shovlin was in praise of the team’s W15 in light of recent performances. Shovlin claimed that the Silver Arrows will bring back the upgrades at Zandvoort that they removed for Silvertone and Spa.
Going to that Silverstone car got it all back to normal. We've since had time to look at the data to understand what it was we did exactly and knowing that, we're pretty confident that we'll be going for a reintroduction in Zandvoort.Andrew Shovlin via Mercedes race-debrief
Shovlin stated that the team removed the upgrades to cater to the high-speed nature of Silverstone and Spa. The 50-year-old then claimed that the Silver Arrows have otherwise found success with their iterations, regardless of tracks and conditions.
Mercedes has been on a rise since the Canadian Grand Prix, scoring 170 points in the last six races. The Brackley based team will now look to win more races with their revamped W15 for the remainder of the 2024 F1 season.
