Red Bull’s struggles have continued to give extreme problems to the team in soaring to race wins. Max Verstappen is no longer enjoying the most dominant chassis on the grid. Hence, Helmut Marko put forth his concerns with the degrading performance of the RB20 and demanded better quality in the car from Red Bull boss Christian Horner.

Max Verstappen had continued to be vocal about his issues with the chassis performance throughout the season. Helmut Marko further berated the performance and noted that he expected better. The 81-year-old claimed that Christian Horner needed to show ‘quality’ in the team. Additionally, Marko believed that sugarcoating the truth wouldn’t help the team’s situation.

Horner has to show quality. Sugarcoating things won't help us in this situation.

However, the Red Bull advisor was also appreciative of Horner for accepting mistakes and taking accountability. Marko noted that the team took a wrong turn in terms of the balance of the car. Regardless, the team wasn’t much concerned with these issues as even Mercedes and Ferrari had similar problems.

But Horner has also admitted mistakes. We took a wrong turn somewhere in terms of the balance of the car. But we're not the only ones - it's happened to Ferrari and Mercedes too.

Helmut Marko feels Red Bull is ‘self-critical’ over their tumultuous performance

Red Bull has continued to attempt to improve in performance throughout the season despite repeated failure. Hence, Helmut Marko believed that the team was ‘self-critical’ over their performance in the season. Additionally, the 81-year-old noted there were a lot of good people capable of turning around the performance.

We are self-critical, but we have a lot of good people who can turn things around. The team has worked hard to find the best setup and balance for this old-school track. Of course, we have a tough job ahead of us.

The calendar has just nine races left including the Italian GP. Hence, the remainder of the season will witness a comeback attempt from Red Bull.
