McLaren recently stole the spotlight after questions were raised on their rear wing legality. FIA started an investigation into the matter and declared that the rear wing was indeed illegal and needed to be changed. Hence, Helmut Marko reckoned that there were no ‘grey areas’ in regulations for the rear wing as interpreted by Woking.

Helmut Marko claimed that there was no ‘grey area’ in terms of regulations for the rear wing amidst legality bias. The 81-year-old noted that the rules clearly stated that the rear wing must not change aerodynamically while driving on the track. This was the reason Woking was asked to change the design of their rear wing to reduce the unfair advantage.

There is actually no grey area. It says exactly [in the rules] that it must not change aerodynamically while driving.

As a result, Marko believed that the sure shot fix to these issues was to maybe do a different test method. On the contrary, FIA could change the regulations to allow this kind of trick on the rear wing. Subsequently, Marko reckoned that the governing body must ban the use of such wings fully to reduce any issues.

So either you do a different test method or you change the regulations or you ban this wing.

Red Bull has the ‘same pace’ as Franco Colapinto’ FW44 at Singapore GP

Red Bull’s desperate struggles have continued to degrade the team’s pace over the race weekend. However, the Singapore GP was further another rude awakening for Milton Keynes. Helmut Marko reckoned that Max Verstappen‘s pace in the practice session was similar to Williams’ rookie Franco Colapinto. Marko further labeled this situation as ‘unacceptable.’

We have the same pace as Colapinto, And you can't accept that.
