Red Bull Technical Advisor, Helmut Marko has urged his team to work efficiently to emerge victorious against its rivals in 2024. Marko has claimed that the preparation leading up to a race has to be near perfect to deliver the best results on track.
Red Bull currently leads the championship over second-placed Ferrari by 71 points. The Milton-Keynes-based team has, however, failed to replicate their dominating standards in comparison to their last year’s campaign.
Helmut Marko has spoken about the upcoming races in Budapest and Spa, stating the dire need for the Red Bull’s upgrades to fare well in these venues. The 81-year-old has taken McLaren and Mercedes’s performances into consideration, claiming that the two outfits will be on his team’s tail at the coming races.
Everything has to be perfect if we want to win a race. There is no room for error. In England we were too slow on the medium tyre. Thank God there will be an upgrade in Budapest, hopefully we can take another step in the right direction.Helmut Marko wrote in his column for SpeedWeek
Red Bull will bring new upgrades to the RB20 at the Hungaroring with hopes of finding better pace and performance. Max Verstappen and Co. will be keen on getting back to winning ways after consecutive losses at Spielberg and Silverstone.
Helmut Marko deems tire temperatures a key factor in Red Bull’s performance
While Marko is looking toward the upcoming races, he has also shared his thoughts on Red Bull’s struggling pace on medium compounds. The 81-year-old has deemed tire conditions and temperatures a key differentiator in the upcoming races in Budapest and Spa.
The fact that the temperatures play a major role or that a car that is good in Barcelona can also cope well on all other tracks is a wisdom that I no longer fully believe in. All of this is called into question by the tyre situation. It's obviously crucial to get into the right temperature window, but the Red Bull is still not the fastest car at the moment and we have to correct that with the update.Helmut Marko via Speedweek column
Red Bull has appeared to be off the pace in the past few races, despite holding a commanding lead over its rivals in the championship. The Milton-Keynes outfit faces a major threat from McLaren and Mercedes, who have improved greatly in recent times.
Marko has since hoped for a better turnaround at Budapest in light of the upgrades being brought to the team. Keeping in view everything that has been discussed, the upcoming event at the Hungaroring will be an extremely fascinating affair from the point of view of the mighty Red Bull outfit.
