Red Bull Technical Advisor Helmut Marko has spoken of an ultimatum regarding Sergio Perez‘s lackluster 2024 form. Marko has insisted that Perez must perform in Budapest to keep a solid grip over his Red Bull seat.

Sergio Perez has been on a poor run for the Milton-Keynes outfit for some time. Additionally, the Mexican signed a contract extension this year with Red Bull until 2026. But, his continuous inability to perform may compel the team to end the 34-year-old’s contract soon.

Marko has concluded that a decision will be made regarding Perez’s future after the races at Budapest and Spa. The Mexican now faces a stern challenge in which he has no option but to perform if he wishes to stay with Red Bull for the coming years.

If this is not giving us some good lap time, then I don't know how the rest of the season is going to evolve. But at the same time, I also don't know what's coming from the other teams, right? So we just focus on ourselves.
