Lewis Hamilton is a 7-time F1 World Champion who participates at the pinnacle of motor racing for the Brackley-based Mercedes F1 team. The English driver has been around the sport since 2007 and is considered one of the best to ever race an F1 challenger. There are not many drivers who are considered on the same level as Hamilton in the sport.

Lewis Hamilton is currently at the peak of his health, but there was a time when he had health-related issues, and in order to stop the problems from escalating, he decided to make drastic changes in his lifestyle. At a certain point in his career, Hamilton was believed to be suffering from diabetes as he showed symptoms.

However, nothing definitive was known about his issues, but they were serious enough for him to make the decision of switching to a vegan diet. His family’s medical history influenced his decision, and with his move, he also wanted to set an example for shying away from meat-related products.

Previously while talking about it, he said, “I can continue to decide to eat meat and take that risk. I guess that’s your personal choice. But when you get a disease or illness like that, you want to make change, so I am trying to pre-empt that and hopefully, it is a good direction. And by letting people who are following me know, maybe it will encourage a couple of people to do the same thing.”

Lewis Hamilton, when he arrived in F1, was an extremely fit young lad who had a lot of energy. But as the years went by, there came the point when he suffered from quite a few health-related issues. However, those days are now being the Mercedes starlet. Because of his rigorous workout routine and proper diet, he has improved his fitness drastically.

Moreover, despite being one of the older guys on the F1 grid, he is still able to drive the F1 cars at their limit and is comfortably able to run for the whole duration of Grand Prix events. This has been all down to the behind-the-scenes work and the strict vegan diet he has followed for the last couple of years.

The importance of fitness is at an all-time high in F1, and if Lewis Hamilton wants to keep participating in the sport for several years, then he would have to keep doing what he has been doing. The F1 driver’s schedule is fully packed, and it is extremely vital to have a proper diet and workout plan in place to keep up with the pace of the sport.
