Fernando Alonso suffered from multiple frustrating situations at the Singapore GP. In the early stages of the race, Alonso had to battle hard with Racing Bulls’ Isack Hadjar to move up the pecking order. The Asturian was unhappy with Hadjar’s antics on the track, claiming that the latter wanted to be a hero. Now, the Frenchman has responded to the Veteran’s comments and christened him with a hilarious title.
The entire Singapore GP witnessed some difficult racing conditions, with overtaking being extremely challenging at all sectors of the track. Fernando Alonso lost crucial time behind Isack Hadjar on track and was unable to overtake him with ease. Alonso even lashed out at Lewis Hamilton in the final lap of the race when the latter suffered from brake issues. As such, Hadjar did not hesitate to respond sternly to the 44-year-old.
Isack Hadjar has emerged as one of the best, if not the best, rookies in the 2025 season. He has already achieved a podium finish and is set to be promoted to Red Bull for the coming season. Hence, the Frenchman looked back at the race and highlighted that he did not push Fernando Alonso off the track purposely.
Hadjar insisted that he kept the racing clean as much as he could and did not want to cause any trouble. However, looking at Fernando Alonso’s reaction, the 21-year-old reckoned that it wasn’t his fault that the former did not enjoy the fight. As such, the Frenchman labeled Alonso as a ‘grumy’ person and noted that there was nothing he could do to resolve the matter.
I mean, I didn’t push him off the track, I kept it clean. If he didn’t enjoy that fight, then he’s really grumpy and there’s nothing I can do for him.

Fernando Alonso deems Isack Hadjar’s move as ‘unnecessary risk’
Even Fernando Alonso gave his two cents on the entire incident following the culmination of the race. Alonso was able to finish in P7 after Lewis Hamilton received a 5-second time penalty due to cutting corners on track. As such, the Asturian finished much ahead of Isack Hadjar and was delighted with his race results. Still, the 44-year-old recalled the incident between the two and how it was uncalled for.

Fernando Alonso acknowledged that Isack Hadjar had engine problems in his car and hence was unable to use full power on the straights. The Veteran pointed out that a driver needed to be aware of which battles were worth fighting on track because if they collided, the results would be much worse for both of them. Further, Alonso explained that Isack Hadjar took some unnecessary risks, but it was understandable for the rookie to do so at the difficult track of Singapore.
I think he had a little bit of an engine problem, from what I understood, on the straights – he was slow, Sometimes, some battles you need to know when it’s better to fight, when it’s not, because probably the final result of the race could be worse for both for sure – but for him in particular. So yeah, I think some unnecessary risk, but I understand that this is Singapore and you need to fight hard, and he did his best, but we lost time for sure.

The 2025 season has been challenging for Fernando Alonso as he hopes to achieve a turnaround in performance with the team in the coming season. The 44-year-old isn’t looking to retire from the sport anytime soon and is definitely going to race for atleast the 2026 season. Time will tell how Isack Hadjar fares against the much-experienced drivers after joining Red Bull in the coming season.
