Lewis Hamilton‘s move to Ferrari caused a massive sponsor exodus from Mercedes for the 2025 season. IWC Schaffhausen, Mercedes’ Engineering Partner since 2013 remained with the constructor to further support George Russell and Kimi Antonelli. However, amidst the preparations, the Swiss-based giant copied Hamilton’s first image at Maranello in a hilarious manner.
Lewis Hamilton made his first visit to Ferrari’s factory in Maranello on January 20, sharing multiple breathtaking images from the experience. Apart from the images, the city underwent a state of emergency following the 40-year-old’s entry. Hamilton’s first image with the team also surpassed the most-liked F1-related post on social media and caused quite a buzz, enough to gain IWC’s attention.
Due to the popularity, IWC Schaffhausen exactly copied the debut Ferrari post with their representative. The post on Instagram by the brand consisted of Kurt Klaus standing in front of the IWC headquarters. Moreover, the image was supported with a backdrop of matte black Mercedes-Benz CLE Coupé AMG 53, much like the Ferrari F40 in Hamilton’s post.
Formula 1 shared a countdown video honoring Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari
A majority of the Formula 1 paddock seems in support of Lewis Hamilton following his eminent move to Ferrari. The 2025 season is right around the corner with just a couple of weeks left before commencement. Hence, amidst the preparations, the social media page of F1 shared a video showcasing the countdown of the first race in Australia.
The post consisted of only the number of days pending ahead of the start. The countdown showcased that there were 44 days left before the first race. The digits of the number were Merecdes’ blue at first followed by a change in color of Red, honoring Hamilton’s move to Ferrari from Brackley.

The coming season is set to be one of the most exciting seasons in the ground-effect era due to the competition bunching up at the forefront. Multiple teams have set their eyes on the prize after looking promising of championship contention. Hence, time will tell about how the coming season pans out for Ferrari and Hamilton amidst their championship ambitions.
