Max Verstappen and Kelly Piquet share a loving bond often showcased by their activities on and off the grid. The couple lives happily alongside Piquet’s daughter Penelope, who Verstappen nurtures very lovingly. The Brazilian model is also often present at the race weekends showcasing her support to Verstappen. Hence, Ex-F1 champion Jacques Villeneuve shared his thoughts on this relationship.
Following an impressive podium finish at the US GP, Max Verstappen was spotted romantically kissing Kelly Piquet after the race. The 27-year-old has also backed up his girlfriend on social media multiple times following backlash to Piquet. Amidst the ongoing season, the 1997 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve noted that Verstappen was ‘changing’ a lot as a person.

Villeneuve believed that Verstappen was ‘maturing’ overall after living with the same woman for a long time. The Canadian also pointed out that Verstappen was starting to treat Piquet’s daughter Penelope like his own kid. Hence, Villeneuve was proud of how the couple turned out after remembering that they got together when the Dutchman was very young.
He is maturing as a person. He has been living with the same woman, Kelly Piquet, for a long time and helping to raise her kid, her kid becoming his kid too. He was quite young when they got together.

Apart from dominant performances, Max Verstappen is very famous for his cold and mature attitude on and off the track. Jacques Villeneuve liked this particular personality trait of Verstappen, especially in Formula 1. The Dutchman’s unexpected relationship with Nelson Piquet‘s daughter had a ‘big effect’ on the 27-year-old. Hence, despite being mature as a driver, the relationship brought in a big change too.
That was not what was expected when he got into F1 and that has probably had a big effect on him maturing as a person. As a driver he was already quite mature. Now he is in a relationship, you can see a big change.
