The Canadian highlighted that Hamilton wanted at least one championship win with Ferrari which was enough for ‘hunger’ to continue racing.
Villeneuve reckoned that Hamilton would wage his options in Formula 1 if the going gets tough with Ferrari. The Briton has to decide between being a fighter like Alonso or going on to do something different with his life. However, the Canadian assured that the 40-year-old had no issues physically. The 53-year-old labeled the seven-time world champion as ‘super fit and strong’ and believed that he could continue racing for ten more years.
Lewis Hamilton set to showcase an ‘interesting battle’ with Charles Leclerc
Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton will form a highly formidable pair on the Formula 1 grid and maximize points over the race weekend. Jacques Villeneuve believed that Hamilton could take Ferrari to championship victory. Moreover, Villeneuve highlighted that there would be an ‘interesting battle’ between the two Maranello drivers in the 2025 season.
Ferrari’s recent upturn in performance is a highly motivating factor for Hamilton ahead of his debut. Maranello came extremely close to the championship win in the 2024 season against McLaren. Hence, with the Briton’s expertise and experience, the Italian constructor might lift the championship victory again after a long drought of over a decade and a half.
