The Dutchman recently was reported to have a net worth of over $76 million following his fourth championship win in the 2024 season. Hence, the 27-year-old has been considered for multiple teams in recent years, with Aston Martin now willing to pay an exorbitant amount.

Villeneuve reckoned that Lawrence Stroll would need someone ‘mentally strong’ and ‘hardheaded’ to replace Fernando Alonso. The Canadian further questioned Verstappen’s step next after Red Bull’s struggling pace. The 53-year-old believed that the 27-year-old wanted to join a team capable of winning races like Ferrari and Mercedes, something Aston Martin wouldn’t be able to provide. The Ex-F1 champion pointed out that the reigning world champion wanted to continue to win just like Lewis Hamilton.
