Lewis Hamilton deemed a late-career switch to Ferrari despite being over 40 years old. A majority of individuals on the grid believed that the Briton was out of his prime even with a highly coveted team switch. Williams Team Principal James Vowles warned the rivals who were discounting Hamilton’s chances with the Italian constructor.
Lewis Hamilton is expected to bring glory back to Ferrari from the 2025 season. Many people ill-talked about the Briton’s chances with Maranello, calling him ‘out of prime’. James Vowles claimed that the 40-year-old ‘reinvented’ himself over every winter break. This meant that Hamilton came back even stronger every season and improved his performance.
The one thing about Lewis that I know about him, is that he reinvents himself every winter, He comes back stronger every winter and with every competitor he’s been up against, he finds a way to improve himself, to become alongside them if he is behind them.
James Vowles told Sky Sports
Vowles believed that Hamilton always ‘one-upped’ himself and found a way to march ahead of the rivals if he was already ahead of them. The Briton further warned the rivals to not ‘write-off’ the seven-time champion as he was still capable of contending for the championships, more so with Ferrari.
If he is ahead, he finds a way of trying to step and march forward. It is Lewis, he is a seven-time world champion, you can never write him off.

James Vowles pays a beautiful tribute to Lewis Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton and James Vowles worked closely with one another when the latter was the chief strategist at Mercedes. Vowles recounted the days he spent working with Hamilton and paid tribute to him amidst his Ferrari move. The Briton asserted that he was the man today because of the 40-year-old. Moreover, the 45-year-old noted that he learned how to ‘reinvent’ himself due to the seven-time champion and always striving for improvement.

I’d start with this. I am the man I am today thanks to Lewis. He taught me about how you can reinvent yourself every single year. Continuous change, continuous improvement, continuous evolution. Don’t accept what you knew six months ago – accept where you want to be in six months’ time.
James Vowles told Mirror Sport
Hamilton seems all ready to take on the challenge of fighting for the championship alongside the Italian constructor. The coming season would be highly exciting due to Ferrari’s upturning performance in the previous year. A majority of the people, even the rivals on the grid, are wishing the 40-year-old nothing but success amidst his move to Maranello.
