Christian Horner suffered an extremely disappointing end to his stint at Red Bull as he was suddenly axed from the team. The Englishman served the Austrian outfit for over 20 years, but the team did not think twice before removing him from the squad. Following multiple personal issues in Horner’s life, coupled with Milton Keynes’ extremely woeful form, the team had to snub him from the squad with immediate effect. Now, Top Gear fame Jeremy Clarkson, who suffered from a similar fate in his career, has sympathized with the outgoing Team Principal.

Jeremy Clarkson quickly rose to fame on BBC’s Top Gear due to his humorous nature. The Briton was loved by almost everyone in the community, as he was one of the major reasons behind the show’s success. However, in March 2015, Clarkson physically assaulted the show’s producer, Oisin Tymon, after being served cold meat instead of a well-cooked steak. The 65-year-old was snubbed from the show following an investigation, barely avoiding criminal charges due to this misconduct.

Christian Horner’s alleged sexually transgressive saga back in 2024 is believed to be one of the major reasons behind his sudden departure from the team. Though, he was found not guilty. Hence, Jeremy Clarkson, who was also removed from his squad due to his misconduct, has sided with the 51-year-old. Clarkson revealed that he immediately sent a text message to Horner as soon as the shocking news hit the paddock.

Jeremy Clarkson noted that in the text he sent to Horner, he sympathized with the latter, adding that he too had been in the same shoes. Clarkson pointed out that the news would be easier to deal with the next morning, as his career at Red Bull would finally come to an end. Moreover, the 65-year-old comforted the Briton by claiming that this situation isn’t like stepping on a snake and losing all his career momentum. Rather, this moment could be the beginning of the ladder to success in his career, as he found his calling and created The Grand Tour for Amazon Prime.

I sent him a text after the news of his dismissal broke, pointing out that I’ve been in his shoes in the past. I explained that when you wake the following morning, it’s easy to think, “Well, that’s that, then”. But in my case, that wasn’t that. I hadn’t trodden on a snake. I’d trodden on a ladder. And I bet he does, too.

Jeremy Clarkson jokes about Christian Horner’s plans after Red Bull axe

Christian Horner hasn’t revealed his game plan following the sudden dismissal from Red Bull mid-way through the 2025 season. While joining rival teams, especially Ferrari, has been rumored, Horner is yet to confirm this possibility. As such, Jeremy Clarkson, who became a farmer after his Top Gear exit, has joked that the 51-year-old has a plethora of career options to choose from and he need not stick to Formula 1.

Jeremy Clarkson joked that there was no certainty on where Christian Horner might end up next. The Top Gear fame joked that the Briton might become an astronaut, or an ice-cream van driver, or even a Foreign Secretary. Meanwhile, Red Bull would suffer a lot after the 51-year-old’s disappointing snub from the team. Clarkson predicted that the Austrian outfit may even end up in Formula 4 as they would not have Horner’s expertise of 20 years with them.

Christian Horner might re-emerge in a couple of years as an astronaut, or in an ice-cream van or as a Foreign Secretary. And Red Bull? This once-great team may well end up, in a couple of years, in Formula 4.

The 2025 season has been extremely exciting and nail-biting due to these unforeseen situations being played out. There are already rumors of Max Verstappen looking to quit Red Bull and join Mercedes in the coming season. However, the current season is still halfway pending as these situations are not worthy of being discussed for now. Anything can happen in the latter half of the year as multiple teams and drivers set their eyes on the prize.
