Charles Leclerc has showcased extremely consistent performances since the beginning of the 2024 season. The Monegasque recently won his race home in Monaco and further closed the gap to the dominant Max Verstappen. The 26-year-old has a great chance of competing for the world championship if Red Bull fails to win the development battle. Amidst the upgrading performance from Leclerc, ex-F1 champion Jody Scheckter put up a rather interesting label for him.

Roger Federer has often been ranked No. 1 in the world of Tennis. The 42-year-old made his mark in the sport by defeating his opponents in a similar fashion to Charles Leclerc. Hence, especially after the Monaco GP victory, Jody Scheckter reckoned that both the athletes were somewhat similar in their own fashion. The 1979 F1 world champion mentioned that he thought of Leclerc as the Roger Federer in the Formula 1 world.

When I got to the World Cup, I thought it might be Roger Federer of Formula 1, a boy with a lot of style and talent.
Jody Scheckter said, as reported by soymotor.com.

Apart from this, Shecketer has spent a good chunk of his life living in Leclerc’s hometown of Monaco. However, despite living in Monaco for 18 years, the South African did not expect to see a driver of such skills from Monaco. Hence, the 26-year-old has been lauded with praise from people all over the world after struggling during the past few seasons.

At the same time, I consider it incredible that such a strong pilot has come from Monaco, even though I lived there for 18 years, it was something I did not expect.

Jody Scheckter claims Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc will form a ‘great pair’ in the next season

Lewis Hamilton is all set to pair up with Charles Leclerc in the coming season after deeming his shocking switch to Ferrari. Upon this, Schecketer reckoned that the two drivers would form a great pair with each other at Maranello. The 74-year-old highlighted that signing the seven-time world champion was better for Hamilton than Ferrari. Regardless, the two drivers were very strong and the South African was prepared to spectate the great battle between the two.

Next year, together with Hamilton, they will form a great pair. The signing by Ferrari is better for Lewis than for the Scuderia itself, but both he and Charles are two very strong drivers and it is a season that I really want to see.
Jody Scheckter added.

Ferrari has been looking extremely well since the beginning of the 2024 season. The Italian constructor has already won two races despite Red Bull’s dominant campaign. The two teams could close in with each other in terms of points by the end of the season. Hence, Leclerc will keep performing at the pinnacle of his career to enable any chances of a championship victory.
