Joey Logano has continued to be the center of negative spotlight at multiple races despite being one of the winningest drivers on the current NASCAR grid. Logano’s most recent booing incident came at the Wurth 400 in Texas as he took home the victory on Sunday.

The 34-year-old hadn’t made a big deal of the situation then and did not speak on it. Now, as he prepares for the upcoming AdventHealth 400 at Charlotte, he has broken his silence on the disrespectful behavior towards him at Texas.

Joey Logano might be worthy of being amongst the greats in NASCAR after amassing three championship titles along with 37 cup career wins. The No.22 driver was still booed in Texas likely due to his multiple controversial situations at the previous race in Talladega.

In the Alabama race, Logano had a massive public meltdown on the team radio against his own teammate Austin Cindric. Moreover, he was also involved in a war of words with MLB Legend Chipper Jones.

All these situations combined might have caused the people to turn bitter towards Joey Logano. Still, the 34-year-old remains unaware of the exact reason behind the booing faced by him in multiple races. The No.22 driver guessed that he made multiple mistakes early on in his career which might have caused the people to still hold a grudge against him. Apart from this, Logano reckoned that he him not puting on a facade might be the reason behind the disrespect faced by him during races.

I wish I knew, I mean I guess some of it is probably how I started my career. I made some mistakes on the way I handled things. I think some of that has carried over for a long time. Outside of that, I don’t know. I don’t put on a facade, like this is me, right? And I think it’s confusing to people who see me smile and laugh and then race hard.

Joey Logano said on the SpeedFreaks YouTube channel.

Logano even questioned why people thought that he wasn’t a genuine person and faked his personality. Although the 34-year-old might come off as rude at times, he doesn’t intend to hurt one’s feelings and tries to keep his thoughts to himself.

The No.22 driver believes that he’d rather people not hate him and love him for who he is. He accepted that he still had a sea of supporters and didn’t mean that people hated him more than loved him.

I don’t think people understand how you can flip a switch like that and it comes (across) like I’m not genuine. I think that’s some of it, maybe. I’ve tried to figure it out because I’d rather people not hate me — and there’s a lot of people that don’t — don’t get me wrong.

Joey Logano is a highly sought after driving who has achieved great heights in his career. The 34-year-old was also recently inducted into the Talladega Walf of Fame at Davey Allison Memorial Park due to his performances in NASCAR. Hence, although the viewers and fans did not directly support Logano, he still remained a highly respected personality in the sport.

Joey Logano reveals the people whose opinion matters the most to him. Logano reckons that other races on the track known him much better than the viewers who sit at their homes and watch them on the TV.

As such, their opinions matter to him much more than the naysayers. However, the No.22 driver clarified that he still cared about what the fans thought about him, but they simply did not know him personally. Hence, he took all the negativity and booing with a grain of salt despite being frustrated on the situation.

Really, what matters to me, the industry people is probably the most because those are the ones that know me as a person in the garage or your family or team, Not that I don’t care about what the fans think and I do, but they don’t know me. They’ve never really met me or talked to me that much. So you kind of got to take it with a grain of salt. It does frustrate me at times but it is what it is. I can’t change that too much.

Joey Logano noted.

Logano is still facing struggles to replicate his championship winning pace of the previous year. He is still giving it his all on the track and trying his best to achieve a great finish in the race. However, the 34-year-old is also bound to release his frustrations somehow as things don’t go his way sometimes. Still, the No.22 driver remains confident and aims to continue the winning streak at the upcoming race in Kansas.
