Max Verstappen stole the spotlight at Ferrari’s home ground of the Italian GP after a flashy victory in the main event. The Dutchman shattered the lap-time record at Monza despite racing in an inferior chassis compared to the McLarens.

Ferrari’s pace compared to Verstappen’s or McLaren’s was mediocre, and both drivers couldn’t perform well. Now, snubbed FIA steward Johnny Herbert reckoned that only the 27-year-old could make a difference at the Scuderia.

The Italian GP marked one of Max Verstappen’s greatest performances, as he won in record time and set the fastest lap in Formula 1 history. The fans did not miss this special occasion and celebrated Verstappen’s stellar race win with a wholesome gesture for the driver. The cheers from the Tifosi could mean that they hoped for the four-time champion to join the team and win with them as well.

Although Max Verstappen recently talked about the dream of driving for Ferrari, he is unlikely to switch teams as long as he does not see a winning chance with the Italian constructor. Still, Johnny Herbert believes that Verstappen could be the very key to promoting a positive change at Maranello. Herbert even talked about the chanting for the 27-year-old, which was expected.

Johnny Herbert insisted that the chanting for Max Verstappen was totally understandable, especially after he put forth such a flashy performance. Herbert then questioned whether the Tifosi would want to witness the Dutchman racing for Ferrari.

The Briton raised surety over the fact that a majority of the people in the paddock, and even the local fans, would believe that the reigning world champion could make some difference at the Scuderia and return them to their lost glory.

Chanting for Max is totally understandable. Would the tifosi love to have Max in a Ferrari? I’m sure they and a lot of us would believe he’d probably make that difference.

Johnny Herbert told a betting site.

Nico Rosberg labels Max Verstappen as ‘most talented race car driver’

Max Verstappen is all set to race at the Nurburgring and expand his domain in various other motorsport categories. Verstappen had already tested the GT3 cars at the Nordschleife a few months ago and reportedly shattered the world record there.

Now, with the Nurburgring race, he is likely to put forth his superior motorsport skills to the best use. Hence, Nico Rosberg christened the Red Bull ace with an impressive title.

Nico Rosberg asserted that Max Verstappen and his record time at the Nurburgring were very popular a few months ago. However, Rosberg insisted that it was common for Verstappen to shatter such records and etch his name in the record books. The reason is that the Dutchman was one of the most talented drivers in the world and drove any car fast, regardless of the category.

There’s been so much talk about Max’s lap record (on the Nürburgring) a few months ago.. Ofcourse he can do the lap record- he’s the most talented race car driver in the whole world. It doesn’t matter what car he gets into, he’ll drive faster than anyone else.

Nico Rosberg said on the F1 Show

The 2025 season of Formula 1 has been challenging for Max Verstappen, but he has never shied away from a challenge. The Dutchman has kept up with impressive results on the grid and will continue to do so for the remainder of the season. Now, with the Nurburgring race up next, it will be interesting to witness how it turns out for the reigning F1 champion.
