Max Verstappen was subjected to disrespectful behavior by English fans present at the F1 75. The Dutchman alongside Christian Horner was booed by the crowd for unforeseeable reasons. Jos Verstappen once again denounced the ‘unacceptable’ reaction from the audience at the London O2 Arena.
Jos Verstappen had already declared that Max Verstappen wished to not attend further events in England if such was the reaction from the fans. The reigning world champion is yet to officially comment on the matter. Meanwhile, many people blamed the FIA for creating a ‘mess’ of things and causing such a reaction from the fans towards Verstappen and Co.
The 52-year-old recalled the event and how even Christian Horner was booed alongside Verstappen. The ex-F1 driver asserted that the teams and the drivers were present at the venue simply to promote the sport. Verstappen Sr. declared that being subjected to such a reaction from the fans was utterly ‘unacceptable’.
That Christian Horner was booed like that and Max was booed too. You do it for Formula 1, you are there to promote the sport and then you are booed by the public. I don’t think that’s acceptable.

Jos Verstappen claims such behavior ‘doesn’t belong’ in Formula 1
Many drivers and teams have been treated with such disrespect in the past due to various reasons. Max Verstappen’s dominant campaign in recent years might have been the trigger point for the people present at the F1 75 event.

Jos Verstappen noted that Max prepared for the event, only to be met with boos from the crowd. The Dutchman called out the sport and its authorities to look into the incident as such hostile behavior did not belong to the pinnacle of motorsport.
He has to get ready to go there anyway, but then you get booed like that. I think they should take a hard look at that because that doesn’t belong in this sport.
Jos Verstappen added
Despite the controversy, Max Verstappen is unlikely to dwell on the incident and will focus on his performance. The Dutchman is known for his resentment to attend such official events. The FIA has also condemned the incident and is looking to improve the conditions for the teams and the drivers.
