Max Verstappen and Red Bull are under pressure to perform in the 2025 F1 season. After a challenging campaign last year, Milton Keynes cannot afford any mistakes. However, Verstappen’s father Jos Verstappen has insisted that the 27-year-old will not be at fault for any mishaps this year.

The reigning world champion seemed confident at the start of preseason testing, claiming that everything was under control in the Red Bull garage. Though, after the end of the test, Max Verstappen admitted that Milton Keynes will certainly not be the fastest on the grid this season.

He highlighted that Red Bull will need to keep improving over the course of the season.

We have confidence in the team and we give them our trust, but it won’t be Max’s fault if things don’t go well. They must continue to perform. They need to keep building a good car, that’s important.

Red Bull Chief confesses RB21 not ‘quick enough’

Red Bull Technical Chief Pierre Wache gave a reality check after preseason testing. The 50-year-old agreed with Max Verstappen and claimed that the Red Bull RB21 was likely not quick enough. At the moment it doesn’t look like we are quick enough, but after we will see. It looks like McLaren and Ferrari are quicker.

Pierre Wache said, as reported by PlanetF1

Milton Keynes will be working around the clock to make some last-minute improvements before the first race in Australia. However, Max Verstappen and Red Bull might be forced to lower their expectations at least for the first few races of the season. It remains to be seen how the Dutchman reacts if he finds himself out of contention for race victories.
