Max Verstappen could not keep the race lead after taking it from Lando Norris in the 72-lap Dutch GP. Despite starting from pole, Norris lost his position to Verstappen due to a bad start. However, the Briton regained the lead after Verstappen struggled with speed, leaving the Dutchman to settle for second at his home race. The 26-year-old’s father Jos Verstappen criticized Red Bull over his sons loss to McLaren.
Jos Verstappen expressed frustration with Red Bull, acknowledging he might be overstepping, but he felt strongly about his opinion. He pointed out that Red Bull reverted to using the car from the beginning of the year, believing this revealed a lot about the team’s current situation. Returning to an older version of the car suggested that the team struggled to find the right setup and keep up with their competition.
Maybe I shouldn't say it, but I'm doing it anyway. The fact that you have to go back to the car from the beginning of this year says enough.Jos Verstappen told De Telegraaf

Jos Verstappen mentioned that Red Bull is currently in a bad situation right now. They need to take a hard look at themselves and reflect on their current situation. Hence, the senior Verstappen thought they should figure out whatβs going wrong and make changes to improve their performance.
They just don’t have it right here at the moment. I think they should take a good look in the mirror.

Jos Verstappen labels Max Verstappen’s P2 in Qualifying ‘exceptional’
Jos Verstappen stated that Max Verstappen is doing his best with what he has, but the car isn’t good enough to help him win races. The senior Verstappen thought it was impressive and surprising that the 26-year-old had managed to qualify in second place, given the car’s limitations.

Max is doing everything he can, but doesn't have the material to finish it. It was already exceptional that he qualified second.Jos Verstappen stated.
Despite not having the best car, Max Verstappen performed extremely well in qualifying, shocking everyone by securing second place with that speed. Fans hope Red Bull will seek necessary improvements and address the issues that prevented the Dutchman from securing wins in the last five races.
