Kimi Antonelli snubs Lewis Hamilton to name his role model in F1
Mercedes prodigy Kimi Antonelli had a different driver in mind as his role model instead of Lewis Hamilton.

18-year-old Kimi Antonelli will replace Ferrari-bound Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes in 2025. The Italian has shared a positive relationship with the seven-time world champion. However, Antonelli did not name Hamilton as his role model recently.
Kimi Antonelli named F1 legend Ayrton Senna as his idol and role model. The Italian driver highlighted that he never got to see the Brazilian race. As Senna tragically passed away after crashing out at the 1994 San Marino GP.
The 18-year-old insisted that watching videos of Ayrton Senna’s driving made him understand that the Brazilian was truly special. Antonelli cited this as the reason for considering Senna as his role model. Moreover, the Mercedes prodigy claimed that he always tries to learn from the Brazilian’s historic drives in F1 history.
Kimi Antonelli aims to follow Ayrton Senna’s footsteps
Antonelli highlighted that Senna was not only a good driver but also a great human being. The Italian pointed out the empathic nature of the Brazilian. Additionally, the 18-year-old claimed that it is his dream to achieve a part of Ayrton Senna’s massive accomplishments in Formula 1. The Mercedes prodigy is set to make his debut next year.
Certainly, Ayrton Senna will always remembered as one of the best drivers in history. Kimi Antonelli is already being considered by many as a potential F1 world champion. However, it remains to be seen how the Italian performs at the pinnacle of motorsport in 2025.
