Alpine’s Franco Colapinto has emerged as one of the more underwhelming drivers in the 2025 season. The Argentine replaced Jack Doohan mid-way through the season with great hopes of performing better than the latter.

However, after joining the team in May, he has failed to achieve any notable results so far. Moreover, the Brazil GP was one of the worst outings for Colapinto as Lance Stroll shares his candid view on the former’s performances this year.

Franco Colapinto’s debut back in 2024 was successful as he achieved decent results in the beginning. However, he was just a reserve driver at Alpine in 2025, with him receiving a full-time seat in May this year.

Since then, Colapinto hasn’t achieved any points. Now, the Argentine fired some shots at Lance Stroll, who collided with Gabriel Bortoleto at the recent Brazil GP, with the latter now providing a stern response to the same.

Now, Lance Stroll comes clean and shares his candid opinion on what Franco Colapinto had to say about his race in Brazil. The Canadian confirmed that he heard what Colapinto said, and he did not know the reasons behind the critical comments.

Stroll continued that the Argentine might be frustrated with his life and hence made such comments. Nonetheless, the Aston Martin driver sarcastically claimed that he couldn’t talk about how many points the rookie had this season.

I heard about it. I don’t know. Maybe he’s frustrated and angry with life, I don’t know how many points he has in the championship. I can’t tell you.

Lance Stroll said, as reported by motorsport.com.

Further, Lance Stroll declared that Franco Colapinto had scored zero points this year, and he was better off focusing on his own performances than commenting on others’ form. Stroll suggested the Argentine score some points first and then maybe talk about the former’s antics on track. As such, the 27-year-old does not want to deal with any of the backlash from Colapinto for the remainder of the 2025 season.

He has zero points. I don’t know. He should probably focus on his own things and try to score some points this year.

Lance Stroll confirms he talked with Gabriel Bortoleto after the Brazil GP

In the aftermath of the collision with Lance Stroll, Gabriel Bortoleto had to suffer from a DNF in his home race and had a disappointing end to his weekend. Now, despite the circumstances, Lance Stroll confirmed that he had a conversation with Bortoleto about the same, and there weren’t any ill feelings from either driver.

Lance Stroll insisted that he was simply racing and had an unfortunate collision with Gabriel Bortoleto. He explained that he had a conversation with the local hero after the race, and the latter wasn’t too agitated about the matter.

Stroll then fired shots at Colapinto, claiming that he may not have been where he wanted to be this year and had to speak about other irrelevant things. The Canadian simply suggested the rookie focus on his season and maybe score atleast one point this season.

I’m racing. I didn’t get a penalty in Brazil or anything. I spoke with Gabriel after the race. Probably Franco should focus on scoring a point or something this year. No, we spoke. I was racing, Maybe he’s frustrated with his season and not where he wants to be. He needs to speak about other things that are irrelevant. My advice to him is that he tries to focus on his own thing and maybe score a point this year.

Lance Stroll noted

Despite Franco Colapinto’s highly underwhelming form this season, he has been confirmed to continue racing at Alpine for the 2026 season. The Argentine would surely hope to finish the three races this year as soon as possible and start the coming year afresh. For now, Lance Stroll wouldn’t be too happy with the rookie and probably wouldn’t talk to the latter about the matter anytime soon.
