McLaren driver, Lando Norris has claimed that he can triumph in the Canadian Grand Prix after a promising qualifying session. McLaren’s MCL38 performed well around the Gilles Villeneuve circuit on Saturday, helping Norris with a P3 starting position for the race.
Lando Norris has been a persistent performer this season, with a win and four podiums to his name. Norris reflected that even though he faced some problems with grip and pace around the slippery Montreal circuit, the result was a good one for his team.

Norris and his teammate Oscar Piastri are the only two drivers of the same team to have adjacent positions on the grid for the upcoming race. It gives the team an advantage against the likes of Mercedes and Red Bull. Oscar Piastri also managed to set a time worthy enough for P4 after a tricky qualifying session.
We hope to be able to make all this happen tomorrow, but the challenge will simply be the race and how long the tires will last. I think that I can win , but we need to see how long the tires will last and we need to try to overtake, which will be another problem because we weren't at the top in terms of straight line speed over the weekend, but we'll see.Lando Norris told SkySports
Both McLaren drivers spoke of the need to manage their tires as well as utilize overtaking opportunities during the 70-lap race. Norris will be eyeing to use the opportunity of a second-row start to his advantage as he looks to add a second win to his tally this season.
Oscar Piastri speaks on difficult weather conditions ahead of Canadian GP
Piastri has spoken on the unpredictable nature of the weather in Montreal and the effects it can have on McLaren during the race. The papaya outfit has been a front-running team this season and is a promising challenger for the title, along with Ferrari and Red Bull.

I think it also gives us opportunities. I think in the past we’ve generally been good in those kind of conditions, where it’s wet or where it’s quite mixed. But of course, now that we’re fighting at the front in normal conditions, it potentially gives us a bit more to lose and others not as much, but I’m confident that we’ll still be quick no matter the conditions.Oscar Piastri via RacingNews365
The Australian has claimed that McLaren has a lot to lose than before as they are slated to start from the front end. Piastri has, however, encouraged his team to rise up to the challenge and perform to the best of their abilities.
McLaren head into the Canadian Grand Prix looking to build on the good performances they have had this season. Keeping in view everything that has been discussed, the upcoming races will be a fascinating watch from the point of view of Norris and Piastri fans.
