McLaren driver Lando Norris has set his sights on Zandvoort as Formula 1 returns to action after almost a month-long break. The Woking-based team is currently second in the championship, trailing Red Bull by only 42 points.

Lando Norris has been in formidable form, winning the Miami Grand Prix and amassing eight podiums throughout the season. The 24-year-old has, however, been far from clinical during crucial moments, which has cost him points and potential wins.

Norris has thereafter vouched to look beyond his shortfalls and focus on the upcoming Dutch Grand Prix. He has hoped for a fruitful outing in favor of the Papayas, in which they fight handsomely for a win and podiums.

It’s also a fun circuit to drive. Hopefully, we can continue where we left off and continue bringing the fight for wins and podiums.
Lando Norris said in an interview ahead of Dutch GP

The last 10 races of the 2024 season will be a stern test for the top teams, who will make their best efforts to claim the title. The upcoming race at Zandvoort will be a fitting venue for a return to action after a prolonged hiatus for the drivers as well.

In a way, I am surprised that we have been so competitive, given that from Miami, we haven't really brought many new parts on track. This obviously means that the Miami upgrade was important, but there will be more improvements to come in the second half of the season.

Andrea Stella has talked of bringing greater upgrades to the MCL38 for the remaining races of the campaign. Stella has admitted to being surprised by the performance of the challenger, which has functioned on fewer upgrades than its rivals.

McLaren will need to win and score podiums here on to catch up to the leaders, Red Bull. They will now hope for a continuation of their strong runs in bagging the title for the first time since 2007 season of the sport.
