McLaren has achieved impressive results in the 2024 season with its extremely young drivers’ lineup. The team breezed past Red Bull in the constructors’ standing and is likely to win the championship. The team was in a close battle with Ferrari for the top spot as Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri left the Italian constructor in dust with a front-row lockout.

Lando Norris labeled the Abu Dhabi Qualifying as a ‘perfect day’ for McLaren. Despite a front-row lockout, Norris reckoned that the session was still tougher than the team anticipated. Nonetheless, a strong final lap for the Briton and Oscar Piastri, helped the team end the season’s final qualifying session impressively.

A perfect day for us, probably a little tougher than we were hoping for but my lap in the end was strong. Just how we wanted to end today.

Ferrari’s weekend was nothing short of a disappointment with Charles Leclerc being hit with a 10-place grid penalty. Hence, despite challenges in performance for McLaren, the team scored a massive turnaround. As a result, Woking is likely to lift the constructors’ trophy after multiple perfect weekends this year.
