You also want to be able to turn off. One of the things I’ve learned over time is, it’s not always how much you can think consistently of these things, I didn’t need to focus on. I was almost overthinking things and thinking too much of damn I didn’t do good enough here, I need to think of that and what did I do wrong there and oh what can be better here. I almost overloaded myself with too much information. I see over time, I’ve learned to get more out of myself in certain areas, more focus and more dedication.

McLaren, on the other hand, has been very successful as a unit, standing atop the title charts with a 36-point lead. Norris now has a responsibility to cater to his team selflessly and help them secure the constructors’ title for the first time since 1997.

Actually at the end of that race in Brazil, it seemed as if he was almost just relieved. He had been running races for a long time with his heart on his sleeve. He was really happy when he had the pole position. We saw that boy from before – nice and optimistic. And now the championship pressure came in, whether it was a real title fight or not. In Brazil, it was done. He looked like [he could] breathe out and relax.

Ruud Dimmers said on the RacingNews365 podcast

Dimmers feels that Norris was relieved after the Brazilian GP as a huge burden of the title chase got lifted off his shoulders. Prior to the race, the 25-year-old was burdened by huge expectations both from his team and himself.

The Dutch journalist then praised the Brit for giving his best efforts and fighting valiantly for wins and podiums this season. Norris will be happy with his performances regardless of whether or not he wins the title. This sense of fulfillment might be key in helping him envision a title triumph in the coming years.
