Lando Norris claims McLaren to face ‘very strong’ competition from rivals at Canadian GP

McLaren started the 2024 season off in a great fashion. Woking has already scored a race win against Red Bull this year. The team is further aiming to maximize results down the season and even potentially challenge Milton Keynes for the championship. However, at the upcoming Canadian GP, Lando Norris anticipates strong competition from the rivals.
McLaren has minimized errors since the season started and has maintained one of the fastest if not the fastest pace around the circuits. Hence, speaking on the upcoming Canadian GP, Lando Norris revealed that he liked running around the Montreal circuit. Additionally, the Briton claimed that the circuit was fun with some challenging circuits.

Additionally, the 24-year-old highlighted the MCL38’s positive performance in the recent races. The chassis has performed well over different circuits in the 2024 season. However, the team might still have some work pending on the car to drive well around the Canadian circuit. Hence, Norris claimed that the competitors would likely be very strong.

Lando Norris claims he is ‘excited’ to witness the Canadian GP weekend
McLaren has consistently scored podiums during races since the season started. Hence, Norris highlighted that it was great to have a weekend off after the back-to-back Imola-Monaco. The 24-year-old also pointed out the great results that Woking has recently been scoring in the 2024 season. Hence, the team would likely showcase a similar performance in Canada.
It was nice to have a week off after the Imola-Monaco double date. We got two podiums and many points for the team.Lando Norris added.
Apart from this, Norris noted that he had multiple productive sessions with his team engineers and others. As a result, the Briton was looking hopeful of even better results in the coming races against the rival teams. Additionally, the 24-year-old was ‘excited’ to witness what changes would be seen in the chassis after the discussion.
I had productive sessions with my engineers in the McLaren Technology Center and now I’m excited to see what we’re going to do this weekend.

McLaren has been constantly closing the window on Red Bull’s gap in the forefront. Milton Keynes could face serious pressure from Woking towards the end of the season. McLaren just has to keep bringing in in-season upgrades against the struggling Red Bull. The team has great chances of a championship contention against Ferrari and Red Bull.
