Since I was eight years old, I was really forced to conform. There was no room for anything other than racing (…) Looking back now, I realise that I was suppressing a big part of myself, a part of who I am.
Lewis Hamilton said in his GQ Awards speech

As seen in the video, the 39-year-old has a passion for artistic pursuits. There was a certain void that he felt during his early racing years and that’s how he got into discovering and wandering through the realms of films, music, and fashion. An F1 driver’s on-track life is quite busy as they are continuously on the go traveling around the world with the various racing events, this leaves little to no room for the drivers to follow other interests.

Music is an extremely important part of Lewis Hamilton’s life

A master of many pursuits, Lewis Hamilton believes that music helps him properly lead his life. While being part of the F1 world and its hustle and bustle, the Brit believes he got lost in it and didn’t quite get the opportunity the explore the outside world. It was during his LA trips and off time, that he discovered his passion for art, and especially music.

Hamilton has immense interest in the music industry and has often been seen trying his hands at various kinds of instruments.

My mind is always moving. I have really, really vivid dreams, I have to wake up and write them down. I’ll have visions of something I’m designing. Or sometimes it’s music. Sometimes I have a song playing in my head. I’ll get up and go downstairs, play it on the piano, record it, and it becomes a part of something that I’m doing.
