Lewis Hamilton‘s Ferrari stint is not getting any better. The seven-time world champion had another weekend to forget at the Hungarian GP. After an early setback on Saturday, the Briton failed to even score a single point in the race. Now, Hamilton has responded to his comment on wanting the Scuderia to find a new driver.

After Qualifying on Saturday, Lewis Hamilton was completely devastated. The F1 star claimed that he was simply ‘useless’ and was turning out to be a problem for Ferrari. He highlighted that while his teammate Charles Leclerc clinched pole position, he had failed to even make it to the Top 10. Hamilton then insisted that perhaps Maranello would be better off with a different driver.

Things only got worse for the Scuderia on Sunday. Lewis Hamilton failed to make any progress and finished in P12 after narrowly avoiding an incident with Max Verstappen. While Leclerc fell to fourth place.

Hamilton was asked about his comment over changing the driver line-up. The seven-time world champion insisted that there was not much to explain. Rather, he had simply confessed a feeling. Moreover, Lewis Hamilton hinted that there were some things happening within Maranello which were not ideal.

Not particularly, when you have a feeling you have a feeling. There’s a lot going on in the background that’s not great so.

The British driver hoped for a dream debut campaign with Ferrari this season. Unfortunately, Lewis Hamilton has only a sprint victory to his name, with no other significant results. The seven-time world champion has been working extensively with his crew to fix problems, going as far as creating documents for Maranello. However, now Hamilton has a couple of weeks to rest a little and spend some time with his close ones.

Nevertheless, Lewis Hamilton was already thinking about the next race. The 40-year-old declared that he will be back stronger. Hamilton pinpointed that Ferrari’s upgrades hold promise with Leclerc’s performances indicating that the Scuderia can make it to the front of the pack. Though, Hamilton asserted that the challenge remains to extract more pace out of the car in the latter half of the season.

I look forward to coming back, I’ll be back. We’ve definitely made some improvements on the upgrades, and it is a shame that we’re not as competitive as the guys in front. But we’ve seen Charles have a really strong run in the last two races, and the car is definitely progressing, so we have to keep trying to extract more from it.

The seven-time world champion is in dire need of a break. The past few weeks have been extremely difficult for Lewis Hamilton and his mental health has definitely taken the hit. Hamilton’s morale seems to have fallen to an all-time low, something never seen before by fans. While the Briton is capable of bouncing back straight away, he needs the stars to align once again. The Tifosi would be hoping that the Ferrari star is able to feel at home when the sport returns to action.
