Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton are two of the most influential people on the current F1 grid. Though their performances have been insignificant this year, they still boast a massive fan following on social media. However, a recent report has claimed that both Hamilton and Leclerc top the chart for having the most fake followers for some reason.

Notably, Lewis Hamilton has gained over 41.6 million followers on Instagram, with Charles Leclerc coming in second with 21.2 million followers. The seven-time champion has made multiple posts following his Ferrari entry and already earned a handsome amount of money. However, this ghost fanbase allows the drivers to negotiate a better deal per post, and they reach more audiences from their social media accounts.

To put it into perspective, if Lewis Hamilton reportedly earns around $115k per Instagram post, around a quarter of that sum, at $32k, is being brought in by the phantom followers. This is a much bigger figure than Charles Leclerc’s $9.2k earnings by the bot accounts per post on Social Media.

The seven-time champion’s money earned per post by regular fanbase, and the ghost followers is certainly much higher than many other drivers combined. However, Lewis Hamilton’s massive earnings from social media are understandable as he is one of the most, if not the most, influential drivers on the current F1 grid.

The Briton also produced the recent F1 film based on the pinnacle of motorsport, which raked in massive numbers globally and a substantial amount of profit at the box office. The $115k per post for Hamilton is certainly going to increase in the coming time, and no one can stop him from achieving success further.

Lewis Hamilton reveals his noble plans with Formula 1 after retirement

Lewis Hamilton is one of the very few people who are actively advocating for changes in Formula 1. Despite being the pinnacle of motorsport, it still lacks in basic sectors such as equality, inclusivity, and even the younger drivers being treated with respect. As such, Hamilton pondered over his retirement plans, as he plans to do something that would include supporting the youth of the sport.

The F1 veteran has always treated other drivers with respect and love when it comes to racing on the grid. Lewis Hamilton noted that even if he left F1, he would still want to support the sport’s youth. Hamilton asserted that he loved to witness the youth of the sport doing their duties with a smile on their face and succeeding at the end. Ultimately, the 40-year-old was excited to see the progression that the young generation would be making in the sport.

I’ve really always wanted to be a driver that’s… even when I leave here, I will always be someone that’s supporting the young, the youth. I think I just love to see these guys that, just keeping their heads down, doing it with a smile and doing what they love and succeeding. So I’m as excited to see the progression of their careers.

Lewis Hamilton said, as reported by RacingNews365.

The 2025 season has been nothing short of a massive disappointment for Lewis Hamilton. Still, despite his performance struggles, he remains the most popular driver on the F1 grid, as evidenced by his massive social media earnings. As such, Hamilton might be losing on track, but outside the sport, he is still making great strides in his personal and professional life.
