Mercedes is expecting great competition against the rival teams at the 2024 Monaco GP. Brackley needs to bounce back from the extreme struggles they have been facing since the start of the season. The team has already displayed positive results in the practice session with Lewis Hamilton leading FP1. However, the 39-year-old just missed out on being involved in an extremely dangerous accident at the circuit.

Lewis Hamilton was driving around the Monaco GP‘s circuit as usual during the practice session. However, during one of the pitstops, the 39-year-old could’ve been involved in an extreme accident. Someone, presumably from the Mercedes crew was on the way to Hamilton’s pit-box stop. The seven-time world champion nearly collided with the person but prevented a catastrophe. Hamilton immediately took to his radio and pointed out that such incidents needed to be taken care of immediately.

I just nearly took some guy out. We need to get rid of these people in front of our garage. That’s so dangerous.

Lewis Hamilton has won around the Monte Carlo circuit on multiple occasions. He had previously explained that driving around the circuit was a ‘surreal experience’ despite racing for over a decade. The Brit also had some changes in mind to improve the experience. Hence, further scoring a race win or even competing for it would be extremely impressive for the out-of-form Mercedes crew.

Lewis Hamilton claimed Monaco GP doesn’t always have the ‘spectacle’

The Monaco GP is considered one of the most glamorous if not the most glamorous race weekend on the F1 calendar. Several multi-millionaires and celebrities attend the event every year. Additionally, the fans watching the race from the yacht further add to the beauty of the circuit. However, Hamilton believes the circuit doesn’t always have a ‘spectacle’ feeling.

The 39-year-old mentioned that the circuit will always have its own place on the F1 calendar. Despite standing out from all the other circuits, Hamilton claimed it wasn’t the most glamorous. Regardless, the circuit will be up with the likes of Monza and Silverstone in terms of specialty as these circuits are the ‘crown jewel of F1.’

Monaco will always stand on its own, it will always stand above, but it doesn't always have the spectacle, But it will always be up there with the Silverstones and Monzas, because those are the crown jewels of our sport.
Lewis Hamilton said, as reported by racingnews365.com.

After topping the FP1 session in Monte Carlo, Lewis Hamilton is extremely hopeful of better results this time around. The team needs to score a great comeback for the 2024 season and the Monaco GP might just be the perfect start for it. Hence, all eyes will be set on Mercedes during the ongoing event to score some positive results compared to the season’s beginning.
