Lewis Hamilton is arguably the most revered driver in the F1 world. He often uses his platform to spread awareness regarding multiple issues and is a major activist. Following on a similar path, the Brit is set to make his debut on BBC’s CBeebies to inspire children by reading them bedtime stories.
CBeebies Bedtime Story is a channel launched by BBC in 2002. Over two decades, multiple stars and celebrities have graced the show, from Harry Styles to Ed Sheeran, and many more. Continuing its success, the show has collaborated with seven-time F1 world champion, Lewis Hamilton, whose show will be aired on CBeebies and iPlayer on July 3rd at 6:50 p.m. GMT.
The 39-year-old would be reading Manjeet Mann’s ‘Small’s Big Dream’ during the show.
I know that there are many kids out there that have big dreams too. Perhaps there will be people telling them that their dream’s too big. But I feel like this story really emphasises that no dream is too big or small and as long as you believe in yourself and continue to work hard, stay focused and give it absolutely everything, keep chasing that dream, anything is possible.Lewis Hamilton said
The former world champion explained that during his childhood, it seemed that his dream of becoming a racing driver might never be fulfilled. However, it came out to be wrong and explained the importance of following your dreams and believing in yourself until the dream is achieved. Thus, he advised the kids to keep chasing their dreams because anything is possible and will continue his story in the CBeebies bedtime show.
Lewis Hamilton points out the problem with the Mercedes W15
On the other hand, coming back to the F1 world, Mercedes won its maiden race of the 2024 season in Austria. George Russell took the elusive win after a crash between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris ruled both drivers out of the Grand Prix triumph picture.
Despite the German marque winning the race in Austria, Hamilton was weary of Mercedes’ situation in the pecking order.
We’re down a lot in the high speed compared to Max[Verstappen]. A lot. It’s insane how much faster they are in the high speed. I think they’re about 12-13k[ph] faster, which is huge.Lewis Hamilton said in an interview with PlanetF1
The Englishman highlighted that they are a considerable amount of time behind Red Bull in the high-speed corners. He further reckoned the deficit to be closer to 12-13 kph, which could easily equal a deficit of a tenth or more in a corner.
Thus, despite winning the race, Russell’s triumph could be understood as a one-off, as McLaren and Red Bull lead the way. So, the engineers in Brackley would have a task at hand to resolve this deficit soon, to take on the fight for a top-three finish in the constructor’s standings.
