Mercedes has attained a highly impressive upturn in performance as compared to the season’s beginning. The team has emerged victorious multiple times and scored three race wins. George Russell showcased a sublime performance at the Belgian GP and scored a highly impressive victory. Hence, Lewis Hamilton was spotted congratulating his teammate on the triumph.
George Russell started the Belgian GP from P7 and wasn’t expected at all to score the race win. Regardless, the Briton decided to go ahead with an extremely risky one-stop strategy.
This strategy turned out to be successful as the 26-year-old was able to hold off Lewis Hamilton behind him. Hamilton on newer hard compounds was unable to gain enough time against his British counterpart.
As a result, Hamilton wasn’t the happiest scoring a P2 finish despite Mercedes achieving a solid one-two. However, the 39-year-old congratulated his teammate on the impressive race win in Belgium. The Briton dapped hands with Russell and congratulated him on the victory but wasn’t hesitant to showcase his lack of enthusiasm by not celebrating with the team.
