George Russell reveals reason for shock British GP DNF

While Hamilton had the time of his life at the 2024 British GP, his teammate, George Russell, unfortunately had an outing to forget. The young Brit was very much in the running for the win until an issue occurred on his W15.

Russell was absolutely gutted with the outcome.

Probably about 10 laps before I had to retire. I had alarms on my steering wheel for some sort of water cooling failure. I don’t know what to say. The car had been so good. It was a long race, I struggled a bit around the damp patches. Gutting.

The ongoing campaign has reached a halfway distance with only 12 races remaining on the 2024 calendar. Mercedes is steadily making progress with their challenger and the results have now started to come.

Keeping in view everything that has been discussed, the upcoming races before the summer break will be immensely crucial. The Brackley-based team is on a charge after consecutive victories and none of the rival outfits can afford to take them lightly going forward.
