Ferrari’s failure in terms of performance in the 2025 season has understandably drawn a lot of criticism towards the team as a whole. Despite the extreme passion for the Italian squad, they have failed to live up to the expectations.
Even after raking in Lewis Hamilton, the team has failed in terms of results and is currently P4 in the constructors’ standings. As such, the seven-time champion opened up on the effects of the constant shade being thrown over the Scuderia.
Lewis Hamilton had been at the center of criticism and couldn’t help but speak lowly of Ferrari. The Briton had labeled his debut year with Maranello as a nightmare and said that he wasn’t even looking forward to the 2026 season.
Hamilton had even shared a neutral reaction to John Elkann‘s comments, asking them to focus more on driving and talking less to the media. Due to the massive performance struggles, Lewis Hamilton acknowledged that there was constant negativity within the media and fans towards Ferrari.
Hamilton did not hesitate to accept that this negativity was definitely affecting the people at the Italian constructor. The 40-year-old accepted how difficult it must be going back home after listening to such brutal comments about the thing that they love so much.
Lewis Hamilton reckoned that it must be tough for the Ferrari crew to face their family and kids after listening to such negativity. The negativity has crept up from the drivers to the entire team, where the fans are not happy with Ferrari’s overall state. Hamilton noted that all these things combined affected the people a lot and further caused the team’s downfall in terms of performance.
The negativity that’s constantly within the media and everything like that, that affects them, They get home to their wives and their wives say ‘they’ve been saying this about where you work’, and I’m sure that’s tough, and the kids, and all those things. So there’s a huge effect on lots of people.

Lewis Hamilton claims development ‘not an issue’ at Ferrari
Amid the intense performance struggles at Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton had shifted his priority to the 2026 season and was emerging as a winning force by then. Moreover, the team stopped developing their SF-25 challenger very early in the season. Still, Hamilton reflected that development wasn’t an issue at Maranello to begin with; rather, it was something completely different.

Lewis Hamilton pointed out that developing the challenger wasn’t the main issue that Ferrari had to deal with. Rather, the 40-year-old wanted to remain one step ahead and start working on the 2026 season’s challenger early on. Hamilton made sure that the team started development early on and was on par to achieve atleast a great time in the first season of the new regulations.
The development has not been an issue, I wanted them to move to next year’s car. I wanted to make sure we started early.
Lewis Hamilton noted.
Ferrari has seemingly focused enough on the new technical regulations of the 2026 season. The team must turn around their year completely and hope for a much better outing in the upcoming season. The Tifosi aren’t going to remain patient forever and hope for a magical fix from the Italian constructor.
Hamilton has shown his full faith in the team to showcase their potential and achieve great results on track. Now, only time will tell about how Maranello fares in the 2026 season and beyond with the 40-year-old.
