Ferrari has suffered from a dismal outing throughout the 2025 season. With just six races left until completion, the team has failed to amass any notable results so far. Following Maranello’s tumultuous state, the team was rumored to consider acquiring ex-Red Bull boss Christian Horner in the team for the upcoming season.

Lewis Hamilton isn’t too pleased with these rumors, as he claims that it is distracting the team in their already problematic state. Following Christian Horner‘s brutal snub from Red Bull after leading the outfit for over two decades, he was allegedly linked with multiple teams.

Alpine and Ferrari seemed to be the best options for Horner to join in the coming season. However, Fred Vasseur got a contract extension to lead the Italian outfit in the upcoming season and shut the door for the 51-year-old’s entry.

Lewis Hamilton, out of all, wasn’t too impressed with these rumors and revealed how it put Ferrari in problems. The Briton himself is having an extremely challenging debut season with the Scuderia, and these rumors aren’t helping him or the team improve their results.

So, Hamilton asserted that he was unaware of where the rumors were even stemming from, and he couldn’t comment much on them. However, Lewis Hamilton did accept that such rumors were a bit distracting for Ferrari as a team, as they had to clarify such claims in every public appearance.

Hamilton drew attention to the fact that Maranello had taken a clear stance on Fred Vasseur and his contract extension with the team. As such, Christian Horner definitely isn’t joining the Reds anytime in the near future, more so because he is likely to want stakes in the team he joins to lead.

I don’t know where the rumours have come from so I can’t really shed much light on that, But it’s a little bit distracting for us as a team. The team has made it clear where they stand in terms of re-signing Fred.

Lewis Hamilton brutally refuses to ‘entertain rumors’ about Christian Horner

Christian Horner is certainly one of the more influential and popular team leaders on the grid compared to the others. Hence, the addition of Horner wouldn’t be a negative thing for the Italian constructor, especially amid their trying times. However, despite the possibility of the 51-year-old joining in the future, Lewis Hamilton bluntly refused to participate in mongering rumors on the status quo.

Lewis Hamilton insisted that he, Fred Vasseur, and the entire Ferrari crew were working tirelessly on the future of the team and achieving a common goal. As such, the rumors of firing key team members definitely did not help the team’s case in improving their form. Further, Hamilton clearly stated that he didn’t and wouldn’t entertain any rumors in the matter and would refrain from speculating on it.

Fred and I and the whole team are working really hard on the future for the team. These things naturally aren’t helpful. I don’t and I’m not going to entertain rumours.

Lewis Hamilton noted.

The 2025 season is near completion, and the upcoming season will be run under the newly introduced regulations. Lewis Hamilton has already shifted his priority to the upcoming season and is emerging as a winning force by then. Hence, it would be interesting to witness how the Hamilton-Vasseur duo manages to come out of the performance slump at Ferrari and return to their winning ways in the pinnacle of motorsport.
