Lewis Hamilton‘s love for adventure sports is well-known. He is often seen doing daring activities, but what he has done most recently is totally unexpected. The Brit has taken a big step in association with IWC watches to do a full-fledged one-on-one Astronaut training program.

Lewis Hamilton and IWC watches shared the clip on their respective Instagram handles, and since the clip was posted, the fans have been going nuts. They have been continuously coming up with their take on the seven-time F1 world champion’s daring move.

Moreover, in the video, Hamilton also has a short segment in which he is conversing with the instructor before going airborne. Their interaction went like this:

Instructor Pilot: So Lewis, today we get to train just like Leclerc’s fight crew did, you’re gonna be at the control.
Hamilton: Up front?
Instructor pilot: Up front, and I think the biggest thing that really marries a fast-jet aviation with going to space is, you know, you are in the ultimate high consequence, high-pressure environment.

Looking at the overall clip, it is very clear that Hamilton had an incredible time in his one-on-one astronaut training. Moreover, he even urged the instructor to push things a bit and, as a consequence, went through over 7G’s in the cockpit of the jet. The Brit’s 2025 teammate Charles Leclerc also recently took to the skies in his surreal experience.

How Lewis Hamilton and Co. ‘benefitted’ at the Las Vegas GP?

While Lewis Hamilton has been making huge noise because of his latest adventure, he was also in the limelight at the Las Vegas GP. Hamilton managed a second-place finish in the 50-lap race behind his teammate George Russell.

Following the event, Mercedes boss Toto Wolff took the time to reveal why the W15 worked well in Vegas.

We certainly benefited from the night-time cold in Las Vegas, but the layout in Qatar should be more favorable to the strengths of our car. We know our competitors will be stronger than they were last weekend, but we will be aiming to get the car in a good window once again and be in the fight at the front.

Hamilton has only two Grand Prix’s remaining with the Mercedes F1 team. He has amassed two victories so far this year, and keeping in view the fast nature of the Lusail International circuit, it should help him bring the maximum out of the W15. The 39-year-old will ideally want to bring his Mercedes chapter to a close by amassing at least one win in the remaining two races.
